Born in Venezuela of Spanish and Lebanese descent, Vanessa Lyon was driven by a passion for self-expression from the time she was very young. By age 20, Vanessa had moved to Mexico and was traveling the world as an international model in print ads and commercials in the United States, Asia and South America, representing brands such as AXE, Yakult, Sandisk, Healthy Options, and Coca Cola. Selected by “FHM” Magazine as one of the world’s sexiest women, Vanessa soon decided to concentrate exclusively on her acting career and began her training while simultaneously working in film, soap operas, television, and commercials. During that time, Vanessa quickly became a familiar face in several popular series on Televisa, including “Hoy Soy Nadie” and worked with cultural icons such as Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo in the popular comedy series “Durmiendo Con Mi Jefe.” Famed producer José Alberto “El Güero” Castro discovered Vanessa and cast her in his successful Televisa soap opera, “Corona de Lágrimas.” Vanessa has been featured in music videos with several Latin music icons – Diego Verdaguer (“No Volveras”), Cristian Castro (“No Me Digas”), German Montero (“Perdoname”), and Alexander Rudametkin (“Army of Me”) – and can be seen in the music video “Luningning” with Filipino heartthrob Jaco Benin.
Always inspired to create original material, Vanessa wrote and produced her own short film and music video, “No Es Lo Que Parece,” in collaboration with Afro-Latino singer Kalimba and Mexican-Italian producer/singer/songwriter Stefano Vieni before taking a huge career risk and flying to Los Angeles to audition for Monday Nights At Seven. Since landing the role of “Isabel” and relocating to Los Angeles, Vanessa has continued to build her list of stateside credits in other film and television projects, including Prayer Never Fails, CLAVE, Carl Jackson, and the Netflix series “Real Rob” with Rob Schneider.
When Vanessa is not acting, writing or producing, she focuses her attention on honing her skills at the venerable Meisner-based Playhouse West in North Hollywood, and indulges in her other great loves: painting and photography.
