Jean-Louis
Haitian-born actor Jimmy Jean-Louis grew up in the slums of Petion-Ville, Haiti before becoming an internationally-renowned model and actor. His feature film acting credits include Antoine Fuqua’s Tears of the Sun (03), Phat Girlz (06) with Mo’Nique, Raoul Peck’s Moloch Tropical (09), and David O. Russell’s Joy (15). On television, he has featured roles in the NBC hits “Heroes” and “Heroes Reborn”, CW’s “Arrow”, CBS’ “Extant”, and the title role in “Toussaint Louverture”, for which he won numerous international awards. In the 2017 Miami Film Festival, he appears in three new films – Kareem Mortimer’s Cargo (17), Claudia Sainte-Luce’s The Empty Box (16), and Nnegest Likké’s Everything But A Man (16).
During Haitian Independence Month 2010, Jimmy Jean-Louis was presented with the key to Miami-Dade County. He has been named Ambassador at Large to Haiti.
