James Olmos

Actor, Director, PRODUCER

Edward James Olmos is an American actor, director, producer and activist.  He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for Stand and Deliver (88), and spent 5 memorable seasons starring in the NBC series “Miami Vice” from 1984 to 1989.

Among his many memorable film credits are The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez (82), Blade Runner (82), Triumph of the Spirit (89), My Family (95), Selena (97), and Filly Brown (12).  He made his directorial debut with American Me (92), in which he also starred, and has produced many projects, including Monday Nights at Seven (16), premiering in this year’s Festival.
