A land surveyor is charged with conducting a surreptitious topographical analysis in a dense, gloomy wood. Isolated from his family and in the throes of an affair, our protagonist’s psyche is increasingly unmoored by strange apparitions arising from personal anxieties, a predecessor’s testimony or some ecological curse.

Deeply mysterious yet infused with a knowingness about the myriad ways an ordinary life can slip into some hidden abyss, Irish filmmaker Lorcan Finnegan’s atmospheric, eerily beguiling feature debut, smartly scripted by Garret Shanley, recalls such esteemed precedents as The Tenant and The Shining, deftly traversing the slender frontier where the familiar and the uncanny collide.
