Ten years after retirement, former NBA all-star Kenny Anderson finds that basketball was easy—it’s life that’s hard. When Anderson was a baby, his beloved mother gave him the nickname “Mr Chibbs” as a play on cheeks. Anderson grew into a big-league charmer, fathering several kids with different mothers, including DJ Spinderella of Salt-n-Pepa.
Filmmaker Jill Campbell follows Anderson, who lives in south Florida, as he seeks to repair his relationships after his mother’s death and his own bankruptcy. Facing his demons head-on, Anderson candidly comes to terms with his past in order to make a better future.
This film is also featured in the 2017 Film Festival’s Florida Focus Film Category.
Kenny Anderson and Jill Campbell will introduce the screening and participate in a question and answer session with the audience following the screening. Join Kenny Anderson for the after screening party from 11pm – 2am at Red Room at the Shore Club,1901 Collins Ave., South Beach, FL 33139.
