Jazmin had long been estranged from her father Toussaint, a Haitian immigrant and drifter, when she receives a phone call from the hospital informing her that Toussaint is suffering from vascular dementia. Suddenly charged with caring for a man she hardly knows, Jazmin must reckon with an unresolved past while Toussaint’s illness abandons him in an increasingly baffling present.

In this captivating, heartfelt follow-up to her winsome debut The Amazing Catfish, Mexican writer, director and star Claudia Sainte-Luce sensitively explores the precarious terrain of familial loyalties, old wounds and fraught forays into reconciliation.

This film is also featured in the 2017 Film Festival’s HBO Ibero American Competition Film Category.
